In Defense Of Ignorance

I’m pleased to share this quirky poem written many years ago, which has finally found a home in Mad Persona Magazine, with thanks to editors-in-chief Serafina Piasentin and Juliana Allan: In Defense Of Ignorance. You may have to click on the line below the magazine title and cover (The Gracious Ghost) and turn to page 27 to read it. Sadly my surname is misspelled (happens more often than I’d like, even after I’ve notified said parties). Interestingly, I wrote the poem many years before reading the book “Cured” and quoting from it for the epigraph.

  1. Cute poem, interesting book.  By the way I have never had anyone add a “e” to the end of my name… however if they get it wrong they do Brunett instead of Burnett Cheers Jean Sent from my iPad

    1. Thanks, glad you enjoyed the poem! And this is the third (!) time an e has been added to my surname by a literary journal, even after the original proof was corrected. I learned that sometimes the original version is sent for publication instead of the revised. And sometimes they can correct it online but once it’s printed, that’s it. Here, they only corrected the Bio. Not proofreading has become a pet peeve of mine. Oh well, makes me sound French, oui?
