Fasten Me

Fasten me to the morning,
to the note that woke me,
this deep, soulful river
now flooding my body,
bringing wondrous news.

A poem from many years ago – one which accurately describes my recent boating sojourn of almost 7 weeks, mostly off the grid, attending to a different kind of news.
