Poem Up At The American Journal Of Poetry

After a long dry spell, I’m happy to say that my little poem HALLOWE’EN is now live at The American Journal of Poetry, along with a feast of others! My thanks again to editor Robert Nazarene for giving it a home.

  1. Congratulations, Lynne – I like how you start with a broad sweep then narrow focus to one participant!
I’ve never been a Halloween fan though dressing up in costumes does appeal (just not the tricky stuff, thank you!) Costumed characters in plays serves (as does Halloween) to “try on” being someone/something else. This can contribute to better understanding the true self … I hope your “little John” grew through masquerading (as opposed to entrapped in pretending).

    1. Thanks for your insightful comments, Jazz! I’ll never know how the little ghost guy turned out – I was struck by the possible irony of his costume choice. I’m not into costumes myself but you make a good point about trying on other identities!
